Ararat Gallery TAMA (Textile Art Museum Australia) is thrilled to host NGV Kids on Tour this summer!

Ten years since it was initiated by the National Gallery of Victoria, the NGV Kids on Tour series returns in 2024 bringing free art-making activities and workshops to kids and families across Victoria.

This workshop is designed by Melbourne-based fashion designers and sisters Fatuma and Laurinda Ndenzako. They celebrate the beauty and rich history of the African continent in their slow fashion label, Collective Closets. Founded in 2016, their designs feature vibrant prints and classic cuts to create clothing that celebrates both the artisans who create each thread and the people who wear them.

In this activity, the design duo has created a meditative and engaging workshop where teens can come together to create a colourful beaded bracelet which they can keep or gift to a loved one.

→ Activities available for ages 9 – 16

→ Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult

→ No booking required

Session dates and times:

Wednesday 17 January, 2pm – 3:30pm

Wednesday 24 January, 2pm – 3:30pm
